I painted (the original painting) for Kenny Loggins -- to honor his
art, his talent, his vision and his song "Conviction of the Heart" -- The original painting ("acrylic on canvas)
was given to Kenny when we met at a concert, August 5, 2007. Kenny Loggins & Jimmy Messina opened for my dad, Delaney
Bramlett (Delaney & Bonnie & Friends) - Carnegie Hall 1972.
About
this piece:
The
child is holding close to her heart a fish, an apple, and a bird representing water, earth, and air. She represents us as
children, our innocence, needing to be guided and loved. We need to first learn how, then teach them what it means to be keepers
of the Earth. The child running on the sheet music is meant to communicate the importance of instilling art as a foundation
for the spiritual growth of our children and that our children should be able to run into their unknown feeling confident
and loved.
The moon is reminding us to look to the ancient ones for wisdom and guidance.
The sky is tumultuous which represents
change ...
But know that the healing rain will come.

Beth Bowers graciously asked if I could make a contribution to
American Cancer Society's Camp Rainbow Gold/Make-A-Wish foundation
PLEASE READ THIS LETTER ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
FROM BETH BOWERS
The Make-A-Wish foundation of Idaho sent my family on a great cruise
a few years ago, and the American Cancer Society runs an oncology camp my son Jon has been a camper at and now is an adult
volunteer with. The ACS also runs sibling camps so the kids that have a sister or brother with cancer also get a great get
away as families that have been ravaged by cancer and its financial drains often cant send their kids away to camps. Our Idaho
office also has a scholarship fund set up for cancer survivors. Kids that endure Chemo and radiation often suffer "late
effects" that result in slower than average processing of thoughts and speech and sometimes it just plain lowers their
IQ's so that they have permanent damage, and it is just heart rending to see these kids who are still living, not able to
get scholarships because they cant compete with well kids.
